Gods Call: Since the moment we came in contact with the amazing and life changing power of Jesus Christ, we were compelled to share it with others.
As a married couple we have lived and served in Johannesburg, South Africa, we then Pastored a Church in Minnesota, and began traveling throughout Asia, and Europe teaching and preaching.
In 1998 Tom, Angela and their two young children moved to Australia to begin the next part of the adventure. Living in the Southern Hemisphere helped us become more aware of the needs represented in some of the South Eastern Countries. Around 2001 we were actively committed to taking every opportunity of ministry in Taiwan, Thailand, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. After taking a short trip into Phnom Penh, Cambodia, our lives were changed by seeing the hopelessness of the people and the extreme poverty. We could not just walk away and forget what we had experienced.

After arriving back in Australia we began to make plans to plant Churches throughout that region. While preparing for our Church planting endeavor, we found out about Cambodia’s horrific water conditions. The water problem is partly due to the monsoon seasons that bring disease into the open water supply. One out of every 5 children die by the age of 6 due to water related diseases. This information was something we could not ignore.
At this time we have 65 Fresh Water Wells drilled in many villages surrounding the capital city of Phnom Penh. These villages are extremely secluded and highly populated. Each well services around 1,000 to 1,500 people, and is guaranteed to function for a lifetime. The wells are up to 250 feet deep, encased in metal, and are a pump style surrounded with a cement platform to keep the area hygienic.
Our goal for the future is to continue to plant Churches, Drill water wells, and begin Micro enterprise systems with each Pastor. We want the teach the Church how to be self supported, by having pig, chicken, and fish farms, or vegetable gardens. They can begin to be the lender and not the borrower. The will give them something of value that is worth working for, and can boost their hope for the future. |
